TTE480+ 5154 TSI VAG 2.0TSI EA888.1 UPGRADE TURBOCHARGER
TTE480+ begins as a brand new standard BorgWarner K04-064 turbocharger that we dismantle and then set about upgrading and optimizing as engineers to create our ultimate K04 frame hybrid for the EA888.1. TTE480+Turbocharger is a great power stage for the 2.0 TSI range of vehicles while retaining near OE fitment.
Engineered & Enhanced
The formula to making a TTE480 starts with a much larger 2871X TTE billet compressor wheel, chosen because is highly efficient, new generation type with very thin blades, creating an extremely high flow for comparative size, giving a compressor map that's very wide. The Re-profiled compressor cover is machined to an optimized tolerance to ensure maximum compressor efficiency. We blank of the original PCV port as not required and fit our TTE smooth flow-optimized billet blanking plate cover. The intake pipe is CNC ported and hand finished with the TTE smooth flow cover fitted to give a smooth tract and transition for the incoming air for the ultimate flow.
We also fit our Billet CNC TTE Boost adapter & silencer delete. Removing any restriction so improving the flow and enhancing the sound. We CNC mill the compressor cover to accept our CNC Billet TTE Recirculation Valve Adapter to fit an Original VAG Recirculation valve to give OE like fitment with trouble-free operation.
A key part to driving the large 2871X compressor and in turn making this unit produce the huge power advantage overstock is machining and fitting a far larger 9 blade High-Flow turbine and shaft, while still keeping the k04 core, this is not so easy to do. This large turbine gives much lower back pressure and keeps EGT lower compared to the stock K04 turbine.
With this TTE stage we have CNC ported the exhaust manifold as standard at the head flange to match and smooth the transition from head to exhaust runner for maximum gas speed and so improving efficiency to the much bigger monster turbine and so driving the compressor harder. The original silencer is removed and new boost outlet is welded into correct position.
Special TTE developed in-house 360 deg high-performance motorsport journal bearing system is fitted. Durable at high loads with no loss in transient response.
The actuator used is an uprated sprung OE unit, fitted with our reinforced clamps for trouble-free operation.
Equilibrium
Precisely balancing our turbochargers is a key critical factor to become a TTE upgrade unit as longevity and performance are paramount. Good balance improves acoustics also. Subsequent great care is taken with all TTE turbochargers to achieving our balance standards. Firstly parts are balanced at slow speeds up to 2800RPM in multiple planes using our single parts machine, then components are assembled and then the CHRA are dynamically balanced, but this time depending on application at up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our in-house VSR machine to acquire the ultimate equilibrium, to a standard far higher than OEM. Each turbocharger is supplied with serial numbered balance test result document.

Tips : The original VAG Manifold gasket may need enlarging to match the cnc ported exhaust ports on the turbocharger manifold.
You may need make adaptions for EA888.1 with regards to boost outlet connection with the use of a 90deg silicone bend and fitting a k04 064 turbo downpipe.

Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. All items are subject to 15% restocking fee from the manufacturer.

Other products from brands such as MHD, Bootmod3, Ecutek, Braum racing, Novitec are also non-refundable and non-returnable.
