The MMX Performance G8X M2 / M3 / M4 Rear Differential Output Shaft Heat Shield Set is a purpose-engineered solution designed to protect critical drivetrain components from excessive heat exposure. As exhaust upgrades and increased engine output raise thermal levels within the rear drivetrain area, factory CV boots become vulnerable to accelerated wear, cracking, and failure. This is especially common on vehicles running aftermarket exhaust systems or subjected to sustained high-load driving conditions.
Positioned in close proximity to the exhaust system, the OEM rubber CV boots are exposed to constant radiant heat. Over time, this leads to material degradation, grease leakage, and eventual CV joint failure. BMW’s factory solution involves upgrading to CS/CSL driveshaft assemblies, a costly approach that addresses the symptom rather than the root cause of excessive heat exposure.
The MMX heat shield set provides a targeted, cost-effective alternative by creating a thermal barrier between the exhaust system and the rear output shaft CV boots. By deflecting and reducing radiant heat transfer, these shields help maintain the structural integrity of the rubber boots, significantly extending their service life and reducing the risk of drivetrain failure under aggressive driving conditions.
Manufactured from lightweight T6-6062 aluminum, each shield is designed to balance strength, heat resistance, and minimal added mass. The polished and anodized gloss black finish not only enhances corrosion resistance but also aids in thermal dissipation while delivering a clean OEM+ appearance within the underbody.
Installation is straightforward and fully reversible, with all required hardware included. The system can be installed in approximately 15–30 minutes, making it an efficient upgrade for both preventative maintenance and performance-focused builds.

Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. All items are subject to 15% restocking fee from the manufacturer.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping to you will be deducted from your refund. Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. The following items are non-refundable and non-returnable once purchased: oils, fuel or oil additives, filters, tuning cables, OBDeleven products, Braum seats, spark plugs, coil packs, and similar consumable, wheel spacers, wheels bolts, license plate brackets, electronic tuning components and any other product subject to discretion of AM Tuning Canada.
Other products from brands such as MHD, Bootmod3, Ecutek, Braum racing, Novitec are also non-refundable and non-returnable.
All sales of these items are final and are subject to the policies and discretion of AM Tuning. By completing a purchase, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these terms.
