Introducing our latest innovation: Our Billet Intake Manifold Plenum crafted specifically for the Audi RS3/TTRS DAZA/DNWA. Designed with precision engineering, our plenum improves the airflow dynamics for enhanced performance without compromising OEM compatibility.
By strategically relocating the throttle body mounting flange outward, we eliminate the need for the OEM spacer, optimizing airflow directly to the nearest engine cylinder. Through meticulous design and rigorous CFD testing, we’ve greatly improved the airflow efficiency. Our plenum features an expanded divider passage, enhancing overall flow rate while maintaining the stock flow distribution between engine cylinders.
Taking into consideration the firing sequence of 1-2-4-5-3, we’ve fine-tuned the plenum to simulate real-world motor conditions, ensuring optimal air distribution. Additionally, we’ve integrated 2x 1/8 NPT ports for added versatility.
Testing on our flow bench revealed an impressive 53% reduction in overall pressure drop at 600 CFM:
- Stock plenum: 35.0 inH20 @ 600 CFM
- CTS plenum: 16.5 inH20 @ 600 CFM
Our intake manifold comes pre-assembled and pressure tested, guaranteeing a hassle-free installation. To complement its performance, we’ve finished the billet plenum with a sleek black anodized coating for durability and a refined aesthetic.
- On a Stage 3 modified RS3, our plenum delivered a remarkable 45 WHP gain and 60 WTQ increase over the stock intake plenum with no additional tuning.
- On a heavily modified RS3, our plenum delivered a staggering 26whp gain from 1,018whp to 1,044whp over the stock intake plenum after additional tuning.
Key Features:
- 6061 Billet construction
- Black anodized finish
- 53% reduction in pressure drop
- 2x 1/8″ NPT ports
- Unparalleled power and throttle response
- Works with the CTS throttle body inlet and OEM
- Eliminates the throttle body spacer and maintains factory throttle body location
Notes:
- Some upgraded 4bar MAP sensors will require a longer mounting bolt and modification to the sensor is required, in order to fit.
- If installing with a TTE billet throttle body inlet, the supplied hardware is not compatible. You’ll need to source your own bolts.
Details regarding plenum testing from @VancityAudi:
- We gained 25whp once we re-tuned the car with the CTS hardware installed vs the OEM hardware.
- The 4” air intake was definitely holding back some performance. If we had a 5” intake installed before we installed the manifold, we suspect the gains would have been even greater.
- Once re-tuned we saw an increase in spool as well as peak power.
- Before and after testing were done on two separate days, but the ambient conditions were nearly identical.
- On the day of testing it was 74 deg F/23 deg C and 1200DA
- Peak boost levels of 45psi were seen
- We were utilizing an IMS950R turbo on E98 fuel for these results
- Lastly, the unusual undulations at the top of the dyno graph were caused by the dyno setup itself. The testing was conducted at Racing Greed, where the primary roller—responsible for measuring power—is positioned under the rear tires. This configuration isn’t ideal for my car, as the majority of its power and torque are delivered through the front wheels.
Once output exceeded 1000whp, the Haldex system was no longer able to effectively transfer any more additional power to the rear, resulting in the irregularities seen in the graph. Because the dyno measures primarily through the rear roller, it couldn’t accurately capture the car’s true performance under these conditions. Rotating the car on the dyno would have produced a cleaner looking graph.
We confirmed this by dyno testing the car at Evolution Auto in Richmond, where the dyno’s primary roller is positioned at the front. There, the results were exceptionally smooth, supporting the conclusion that the earlier inconsistencies were due to dyno configuration rather than the car itself.
