Stage 1 ECU
Stage 1 is designed for completely stock vehicles and requires no hardware modifications. Optimized boost, ignition timing, and torque calibration unlock substantial power gains while maintaining excellent street manners and factory-like drivability.
For most owners, Stage 1 delivers the single largest improvement in overall performance, transforming the driving experience with significantly increased horsepower, torque, and throttle response while retaining the comfort and refinement expected of a daily-driven Audi. Throughout our rigorous software development process, we evaluated the conventional Stage 2 hardware configuration of high-flow downpipes paired with the factory turbochargers to determine whether meaningful performance gains could be achieved over our Stage 1 and Stage 1+ calibrations. Across all fuel types tested, our engineers found that the OEM downpipes provided sufficient exhaust flow for the factory turbochargers, and that installing a more free-flowing exhaust system did not result in additional horsepower or torque gains.
While our data-driven approach initially led us to focus exclusively on the configurations that delivered measurable performance improvements, customer demand for downpipe-compatible calibrations continued to grow. In response, 034Motorsport offers Stage 2 and Stage 2+ ECU files for the B9/B9.5 Audi RS4 and RS5, specifically designed to support vehicles equipped with high-flow catted or catless downpipes, without visible error codes.
